Virtual assistant

How the virtual assistant works.

The R&A Asociados virtual assistant provides information and guidance; it does not offer legal advice. Here we explain what it does, what it does not do, how we handle your conversations, and how you can contact us directly.

Contact us

What it does

  • It answers frequently asked questions about the firm's practice areas with general information.
  • It tells you which practice area fits your matter and shows you the relevant page.
  • It helps you submit an appointment request: name, email address, and phone number; practice area, format (in person in Playa del Carmen, video call, or phone call), preferred date and time slot, and a brief description of your matter. You can type the details together or one at a time: it only asks for what is missing, and you can correct any of them before submitting.
  • It responds with automated replies in Spanish, English, and French, according to the language of the page, in a formal register.

Every appointment is recorded as a pending request. The firm will reply by email during business hours to confirm the date and time; the assistant never confirms appointments on its own.

What it does not do

  • It does not give opinions on specific cases or on the likelihood of success, timeframes, or fees; those are reviewed in a consultation with an attorney.
  • It is not a substitute for a consultation with an attorney and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • It does not ask for your RFC (Mexican taxpayer ID number), CURP (national population ID number), passwords, or bank details. Please do not type them in the chat.
  • It does not handle matters outside the firm's practice (criminal, family, and immigration matters, among others); in those cases, it provides the firm's general contact details so that you can confirm.
  • In labor matters, the firm provides preventive advice and compliance services; it does not litigate.

Your conversations

For now, the assistant works with predefined automated replies, as indicated in the footer of the panel. The conversation is stored only in your browser while the tab remains open and is not sent to the firm or to third parties; the details of an appointment request are sent to the firm only when you click the “Submit request” button. That processing is carried out in accordance with the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, LFPDPPP) and our privacy notice.

The information you provide for an appointment request (name, email address, phone number, practice area, format, preferred date and time, and a brief description of your matter) is used to manage that request and for the other necessary purposes described in the privacy notice. We recommend that you not include sensitive or financial data in the chat.

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and objection (ARCO rights) by writing to contacto@riosmena.com.

The information provided by the assistant is general and does not constitute legal advice.
